(1)    GRAVEL IS ROUND AND BROWN, LIMESTONE IS GRAYISH-WHITE. 

(2)    WASHED GRAVEL IS 3,400 LBS PER YD. WASHED LIMESTONE IS 2,850 LBS PER YD.

(3)    LIMESTONE IS TYPICALLY USED IN DRIVEWAYS BECAUSE ITS HARD, LIGHT AND ANGULAR.

(4)    GRAVEL IS TYPICALLY USED FOR BACKFILL WHERE DRAINAGE IS IMPORTANT.

(5)    GRAVEL CAN CERTAINLY BE USED IN DRIVEWAYS, ITS EARTHLY TONES ARE ATTRACTIVE.

-Crushed gravel, because of its angular shape, is better suited for backfill and driveways.

-Washed gravel (screened/washed, not crushed) is the best material used for water drainage.  Its rounded shape allows for larger openings, leaving it more porous for drainage.  Its rounded shape also makes it easier to walk on in bare feet.
